The Lausanne Marathon is an international event that was launched in 1993 with 1,522 participants. Since then it has continued to grow to more than 15,000 participants in 2016.
The race leaves the Place de Milan towards La Tour-de-Peilz. Four different races are offered: the marathon (42.195km), the 10km, the walking and nordic walking (10.548km). A half-marathon (21.097 km) is offered with the starting line being at La Tour-de-Peilz in direction of Lausanne. All arrivals take place in front of the fountain of the Olympic Museum. Races for kids (from 600 m to 3 km) take place on Saturday in the Parc de Milan.
