What a way to celebrate museums! Over one day and one night, the 22 participating museums welcome a record number of visitors. Performances, activities and special events abound.
With their access pass in hand, visitors move from one location to the next along the marked route, using public transportation’s extended hours, on bike or simply on foot.
The night ends at the Musée Ephémère (FMR), a unique place with turntables spinning.

Had enough of Hollywood? Each autumn, LUFF brings a breath of fresh air to the world of cinema by offering a selection of long and short fiction films as well as experimental, animated and documentary shorts, both within and outside the competition.
This is an opportunity to soak up different, never-before-seen and offbeat pictures, shown at the Cinémathèque, Arsenic, and Zinéma. LUFF also offers a concert series in a similar vein.

Jazz Onze+ Bringing together creators and masters of contemporary jazz from all parts, this festival (which ran for the 20th time in 2007) has developed a loyal following among its audience, hungry for journeys through new fusions of music and sound.
Located near the concerts (which take place at Montbenon), Cinémathèque participates in the event with a film programme dedicated to the stars and the world of jazz.

A spin-off of the Fête du Cinéma, «Ciné Festival» schedules previews (about a dozen competition films), shorts, tributes, etc.
The screenings, which are often attended by big names from the film world, take place at the Cinétoile in Malley.
The Cinémathèque shows retrospectives, while the various museums and theatres set up film-related activities. Mad and Amnesia also contribute to the event with themed parties.

In the short time since it was created, Metropop, named by combining Métropole (the room at the heart of the festival) and pop, has already attracted many big names from today’s music scene (rock, hip hop, electro, house, but also reggae and folk).
Since 2001, the venues have multiplied: Les Docks, the D! Club and Romandie also welcome festival-goers for three nights of concerts and live acts.

Short films have their own travelling festival, and Lausanne is one of the eight Swiss stops for this night of shorts, during which visitors discover several dozen Swiss and foreign films, both fiction and animation, grouped by theme.
With special guests and public voting, this evening of screenings (at the Galeries du Cinéma) ends in the early hours of the morning, with coffee and croissants.

Intimate and widely renowned, this festival dedicated to the study and performance of the works of Bach, his contemporaries and his predecessors, returns each autumn to the delight of baroque music lovers.
Many artists have been invited to attend since it first started more than ten years ago, including virtuosos who play period instruments. Conferences round out the concert programme, with a special theme characterizing the entire event.

This festival of emerging works has an ambitious cultural objective: to capture the spirit of the moment by drawing the public eye to new artistic trends, from the very instant they spring to life.
