Created in 1973, the Prix de Lausanne is an international competition in which more than one hundred young dancers aged 15 to 18 compete each year.
The best dancers are rewarded with scholarships that pave their way toward professional careers, allowing them to study at renowned ballet schools.
Through live or delayed broadcasts in many countries, television has long popularized this event. The final takes place at the Théâtre de Beaulieu.
