Sofia Aceiton, student
‘I studied at evening classes in order to win a place at this school.’
Why did you choose to study in Lausanne?
SA | I was born in Lausanne, but I didn't consider other nursing colleges because I was absolutely set on studying at this renowned school.
What impression of the city of Lausanne would you give to a stranger?
SA | The impression of a city that is young, big but not too big, and culturally rich.
What and where did you study before starting a course of higher education in Lausanne?
SA | I did a federal diploma (CFC) as an assistant in pharmacy and then I studied at evening classes in order to win a place at this school.
If you had to define the study environment in Lausanne in just three words, what would they be?
SA | Varied, rich and dynamic.
What are you planning to do after your studies?
SA | I hope to find a job as a nurse in the region and gain practical experience. I would like to do in-service training or a postgraduate course after that.
Will you stay in Lausanne after finishing your studies if you have the opportunity to do so? And if so, why?
SA | Yes, I will be glad to return here. The setting is magnificent!
Would you recommend Lausanne as a town in which to start your higher education?
SA | Yes, of course! It's the best city for higher education in the field of health care. And there are quite a few exchanges between students from different schools. We get together for parties.
And your fondest memory of Lausanne?
SA | The last end-of-year celebration organised by the students with the help of management. It was open to all the staff and all the students.
