Accommodation in Lausanne

Despite its size, Lausanne does not have a university campus reserved for the use of students. This is why you are recommended to consider different options for accommodation in town: halls of residence (foyers universitaires), house-sharing, a room in a private home or a furnished studio apartment.

Accommodation and homes for students

University – department of socio-cultural affairs: This office is a service for Swiss and foreign students at the University of Lausanne and the EPFL. It provides addresses of rooms in private homes. It advises and assists people looking for an apartment.
Fondation Maisons pour Etudiants: The foundation manages seven houses (Marcolet, Falaises, Triaudes, Ochettes, Rhodanie, Cèdres, Bourdonnette), with over 1'000 beds for students at the UNIL and EPFL.
Fondation Solidarité Logement pour les Étudiant-e-s: The FSLE is a joint foundation run by students. It provides around 80 beds for young Swiss and foreign people in education at a number of places in Lausanne, including Malley and the city centre.
