Lausanne is at the heart of one of the Swiss regions experiencing the steepest upswing in terms of demographic and economic growth. The future of the region revolves around a knowledge economy driven by world-class players in both the business and the training and research sectors. Furthermore, the City of Lausanne is directly involved in a number of infrastructure projects that will contribute to the region’s development.
To improve its economic appeal, Biopôle offers international companies an opportunity to set up operations for research purposes.
The Lausanne Hotel School
To allow the hotel school to grow in tune with its surroundings, plans to extend the premises are under discussion. Meanwhile, the entrance to the site will be moved and improved.
The cantonal insurance office (ECA) will consolidate its activities in the Désert and Grangette areas and will also build a hundred new housing units there.
The completion of this project will contribute to economic growth in Lausanne through both the direct impact of planned investments and the improved transport network that will increase the appeal of the locations served.
