Calendar of markets
The proximity of the countryside, vineyards and also the lake, has encouraged the mushrooming in Lausanne of open-air markets; their local colour brightens up the centre of town and various outlying districts while, in Summer, a Sunday market sets up in Ouchy. A flea market (Place Chauderon), a craft market (Place de la Palud) and a Christmas market (Place de la Riponne).

From 30 November to 24 December 2007, the St. François Square welcomes the Lausanne Christmas Market from 11.30am till 8pm daily. The Christmas market, with its chalets at St-François Square, invites you to discover a festive village in the city in a fairy-like atmosphere. |
