All the elements of the City of Lausanne website are especially protected by legislation covering intellectual property and in particular that relating to the rights of the author. The reproduction, transmission, modification or utilisation of the website of the City of Lausanne for public or commercial purposes, as well as the creation of links to the latter require the prior written authorisation of the City of Lausanne.
In maintaining its website, the City of Lausanne places particular importance on the quality, completeness and security of the information it provides. Furthermore, it takes reasonable steps to ensure the correct functioning of its website. Nevertheless, the City of Lausanne cannot guarantee the accuracy, reliability or completeness of the information, images, documents, software or other data it includes. Furthermore, system failures, such as interruptions, attacks by computer viruses or loss of data cannot be excluded.
Finally, the City of Lausanne reserves the right to expand, modify or close down its website, along with the information published on it, at any time and without prior notification.

For all other uses, for example commercial or in the form of private publications (CD-ROM, internet sites, etc.), the said images must be subject to a written request by e-mail to editions@lausanne-tourisme.ch

Use of the city map

The data copyright is held, on one hand, by:
- Cartosphère SA for the city maps with the following scales: 1:5000, 1:20,000 and 1:50,000;
- the Federal Topography Office for the national 1:25,000 map and the orthophoto covering all of the communes, except for the Commune of Lausanne;
- the Canton of Vaud for official measurement data covering all of the communes, except for the Commune of Lausanne;
- the Post Office for address geo-referencing;
and, on the other hand, by:
- the City of Lausanne, for all other data.
The city map is based on the free-software solution Cartoweb, distributed under the GPL license and developed by Camptocamp SA.
Use conditions
The data are made available to users for their exclusive use. The data provided must not be used to draw up official plans or documents, nor may they be enclosed with work intended for third parties.
Publication or commercial use of the data is regulated by the following provisions:
the Federal Council Ordinance of 24 May 1995 (RS 501.622.1) regulating the use of federal maps;
the reproduction of official measurement data (ORDMO-DFJP) (RS 501.622.2).
In this case, the owners' previous authorization must be requested. This authorization may be subject to a fee.
Property reservation
The owners are the exclusive holders of the copy of the digital data provided to the user.
They grant the user personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable authorization to use the digital data provided.
Data updating
The owners ensure that the data is updated according to the procedures and frequency specific to their respective enterprises.
The data owners assume no responsibility whatsoever for updating the data published on the site.
Guarantee and responsibility limitation
For technical reasons, it is not possible to guarantee the exactitude, completeness, reliability or currency of the data. All of the data are therefore without public responsibility.
Only the owners, within the context of their functions, are authorised to issue documents and official, certified-true document extracts.
The user recognises that the data provided may contain errors or not be up-to-date.
The owners have full jurisdiction and are available to provide additional information regarding the data provided.
