Discovering Green Tourism |

Green Tourism in Lausanne’s HeritageThe City of Lausanne wishes to highlight its agricultural, wine-making, and forestry heritage and to revitalize it thanks to visits from the people of Lausanne.
Inns, barns and wine-growing areas are scattered throughout the City’s property. Farmers and winemakers work and live there. Several rural buildings have been renovated in order to preserve the agricultural infrastructure, the quality of life among producers, and to welcome the public, in terms of lodging and restoration, etc.
Green Tourism and Sustainable Development
The rural world today must ensure profitable production activities while conserving natural resources. One solution that is put forward by sustainable development is to bring agriculture closer to its nearest market, cities. This has the positive effect of limiting the distance for transporting goods, ensuring a certain amount of agricultural revenue, and expanding the availability of green tourism to city dwellers. |
