Lausanne has become the administrative capital of sport thanks to the presence of the IOC, the Olympic Museum, and numerous international sports federations and organisations that have established their headquarters in the Vaudois capital. And there is no doubt that this trend for concentration is not over!
The Maison du Sport International, the only one of its kind in the world, has now underlined this status. Other institutional measures have been taken to maintain and develop our links with sports organisations: training courses for their staff and publication of the “Olympic Quarterly” newsletter, for instance - not to mention the World Union of Olympic Cities and the Lausanne Summit which have been set up to establish a platform on which representatives from cities throughout the world can swap experience. The region also has a tradition of excellence in the field of training and research in the shape of IDHEAP, ISSEP, AISTS and ASMS.
