After Bellinzona in 2011, Lausanne is highly honoured to take up the torch of City of Taste in 2012. Throughout the next year, the city will help people to discover the tastes and flavours of its region, with a particular emphasis on the theme of encounters: encounters between people of course, from here and elsewhere, but also encounters between the gastronomic traditions and products that contribute to the wealth of the city.
Lausanne is a city of fine dining in many respects, not only by virtue of its gastronomic reputation, which extends far beyond its borders, but also due to the diversity of food cultures that are encountered here.
Today, the city of Lausanne is very proud to have been given the opportunity to present the great diversity of tastes and cultures found in such close proximity on its soil.
