Peter Welz – Studies for a movement
On each side of the metro station, giant photographs of dancers from the Béjart Ballet invite passengers to enjoy an ever-changing ballet. Composed of five superposed images, they ‘dance’ with the movement of viewers. A tribute to the great choreographer who gave his name to the metro station, the installation by Welz also evokes the work of Muybridge, who pioneered the decomposition of movement with photography.
