Designed by Edouard-Marcel Sandoz and sculpted by Georges Roncati, this bull standing by the main facade of the building symbolises the evangelist Luke, patron saint of the old church and painters. The artist, renowned for his prolific production of animal sculptures, chose here to represent not a winged bull symbolising power, but a young animal in a gentle and humble pose signifying devotion.
