Hansjörg Gisiger – Fontaine à la gloire de l'eau

This majestic fountain celebrates water with panache. It exerts a fascinating power, rendering its material substance almost invisible: indeed, when the water cascades, its summit appears to float in the sky. The artist has created a virtuoso work in metal with this memorable installation, which drew many plaudits at the 1964 National Exposition, the beginning of a long string of no fewer that forty monumental sculptures to his name.
